Sorry no I was wandering around the concours today and then did a little drive down highway 1. I ran into one of the blzpwr from P9 forums. That was about it. ;)

Quick questions for all of you down at Parade this week.
Since I will be driving in Laguna Seca this Sat & Sun I figured I could drive down to Monterrey on Friday morning and do an "early arrival" so to speak So here's the questions: * Can I just sneak in whatever's going on, or do I need to be registered? * Anything good going on on Friday? * How's the weather, looks nippy in the pictures Cheers Chris |
To take part of any events in the parade you have to registered and signed in and picked up your badge and car # to put on the vehicle and signed the waiver form. For what is left I would check the schedule:
Parade 2014 Schedule Highlights http://parade2014.pca.org/docs/form_event_gantt2014.pdf but I think again you need to have pre registered for any of the events etc to be signed up for them... I dunno if any are open or available at this point.. I'm no longer down there right now but generally speaking Monterey / Carmel is cold and windy... other than inland where it can get warm and sunny in the afternoon...but generally it feels more like downtown bay area at the coast...say along highway 1 etc... Laguna Seca is inland a bit so that might get warm during the day and then cold at morning/night. having multiple Layers is good idea. |
Not much is taking place on Friday. Driving tours to Big Sur, Canepa and few other destinations.
Onsite have Tech sessions all day and auto cross banquet at night. Yes you can stop by and browse around. Hyatt is the main hotel |
OK, I swang by for a couple of hours and it worked out perfectly for me.
Wandered around looked at all the cars (never seen so many Porsches in one place) That is a RUF: http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1403579015.jpg |
Hi Chris.
What run group were you in? I was looking for a silver boxster in the garage on Sun but didn't see one. Maybe we were in run groups that were close together? I was in white on Sat & blue on Sun. Your vids helped a lot. I got busted by the noise police in my 2nd session on Sat. :( Had to spend the rest of the sessions short shifting after 5. Ruins that whole section. And I have a stock PSE - it's permanently on so couldn't do anything with it. Someone in my run group had a fart can on his GT3 that had "90 DB sucks" written on it. So does 92 DB. My buddy's stock 2014 Cayman S was busted too, along with a 981 Boxster. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1403663859.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1403663888.jpg Bought some great pics from BlueMilk but they're too big to load in a thread. Will work on that. They are fantastic. Was filling my car one day in Monterery and a guy delivering stuff to the gas station says to me, "what's going on? I think I've seen about a 1000 Porsches." I said he wasn't too far off - there were 1200. |
@husker boxster: I was in Blue on Sat & Sun, and you were looking for the wrong car :(
It's a meteor grey 2009 C4S. We actually "met" ;-) a couple of times on the track in the Blue group on Sunday. IS this a Cayman S or R? Below is a picture on how I fought the sound limit (I have permanent PSE too). http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1403671951.jpg By the way: We actually DID meet. remember the grey Carrera that accidentally parked on your spot on Sunday? That was me! I was all packed up and was ready to go but then had to follow the "call of nature" and thought your spot was empty. I noticed the Omaha plates, but didn't menatlly make the connection. Bummer :( |
