Seconds from disaster?

I am in the midst of a large maintenance/upgrade project to my 2000 S and part of which is RMS/IMSB/DOF. I'm getting ready to drop the transaxle and removing all of the necessary components. I found that the bolt holding the slave cylinder in place was loose. So loose, in fact, that a half-turn with my hand and it was off. There was a clutch job done by the previous owner (shop, not DIY) about 8000 miles ago, so I'm guessing they never torqued the bolt down or maybe just started it by hand and never put a wrench on it.

Either way, I'm really glad I didn't put this maintenance off until fall. This could have been a very dangerous situation.
