About to do front brakes, what else at same time?
Would also replacing the front wheel bearings be good preventative maintenance? Brake hoses? Car is a 2000S with about 75K miles. Thanks.

I tend not to get into things get just because I have nothing better to do.
The wheel bearings are sealed. You can replace the if they are not smooth when spinning. I usually do not even consider doing brake hoses until 120k.

But I would flush the brake fluid. check the balance of the tires for wear, (dismount tires from wheels and cross rotate if necessary and possible) as well as maybe do an alignment.

Not to sound like a broken record but are you on the most recent coolant cap from 2004? That's $20 that could save your engine. I would prioritize updating the coolant system in general.
I just did my rear wheel bearings at 90K miles. They were shot. I'm mean really bad.
Funny thing is I can't really tell or hear a difference with the top down, and my foot off the throttle.
But no bearing lasts forever.

Yeah if you have the wheels off and messing with the brakes a bleed or flush is good. I can't really think of anything else up front.
For the back wheels there are lots of good things you can do with the wheels off, spark plugs/tubes is the one that springs to mind.

- Check all front suspension components, mounts, and bushings, including steering rack.
- Spend $45 and install GT-3 brake ducts for better front brake cooling.
- Check wheel bearings.
- Check tires for excessive wear especailly on inside portion of the tire. This is often missed when inspecting tires on the car because the wear is not easily visible.
- Check the front underbody panels to be sure that they are firmly mounted to the car and not flapping in the wind.

you brake hoses are 14 years old... I would check them for cracks

I just got some a few weeks ago for $29.95 with free shipping off ebay; I have heard others say they got them for even less.

According to Ebay they are about $32 to $38 a pair

I replaced pads, rotors, sensors on all four corners. Flushed brake fluid, painted calipers. I have a 99 and had water in the brake booster so i replaced the master cylinder and booster and installed the update kit so no water gets in the boostere anymore. Its a PITA but cannot fathom what the labor would cost me at the local dealership. The update kit only applies to pre-2000 cars.

I wouldn't mess with the bearings unless you have to. They'll let you know (screeeech!) when it's time. The rears will go first.
