I would suggest the Autozone Duralast. I have had excellent experience with them. They are now the only alternator I will buy.

Actually it's a place called RAC Performance. A local place here in the FT Worth/Dallas area. They have a good rep, but they do have an nice shop

Thanks for the feedback - While the original Porsche unit ws $1500, was able to source a Bosch unit for like $500. Will keep you posted on how this turns out....

Not sure if I am brave enough (now after blowing up the alternator) to replace it myself.....maybe in a few months I will have enough courage!
