Crunsching window regulator sound, a few questions:

Hi all.. I KNOW there are many threads on the topic of window reg fails.. (I did my searching) but I just have a few questions I couldn't see being answered, so please be gentle:

(I popped down my pass side window as usual yesterday, came half way down and stopped as it made a crunching / stone-rushing sound at the same time.
I stopped it and tried clicking the button to make it go up - but no go.
I manually pulled it up as it was raining.
I have not tried to click eiter up/down buttons after this).

- Do I need a completely new regulator?
- Can the cable be fixed if it is just snapped in two?
- Is it always a new window regulator that is needed or could it be different errors here?

I am asking since I can't just remove the doorpanel in the street I am parked and look for myself.. I need to have the remedy the time I am parked inside a place..

Thanks guys.. I am just fed up with stuffing $$$ into this car now..

Hi Haz, check this out:

98 Porsche Boxster deler ; cab stoler dør speil baklys etc -

"""PASS.DØR - BULKET , MEN MED INNMAT , MOTOR / VINDU :
UTEN AIRBAG ; KR 1,000.-"""

If it's snapped, you need new mechanism only, the price in Porsche Ryen is not to bad compared to web.

Thanks! I sent him an email (looked like he was asking 1000 NOK for just the mechanism, which is a bit pricey).

I will also call this one and ask for the same mechanism: _Demonteringsobjekt_ til Porsche Boxter - NBF Bildeler

I'll call you after 15:00 today Ching

BTW: Ching, I didn't see what you wrote about PCO.. I'm not sure I agree, I got quoted this today:

Hi

There is no repair set for this, it's the whole mechanism that us needed.

This costs 2212 NOK / $ 360 - inc VAT. The part is in stock.
