SRV is on a lot of lists! Great player. I remember hearing he died.
I saw Jimmy R V and the Fabulous T-Birds and had 2nd row. That man can play. They opened for REO. What a show.
Also saw Rush twice now. One of my all time favs. Thanks, Canada!
JethroTull was a very great show. Barre is an awesome player.
Knopfler and Chet Atkins did a duet tape many years back. Great music.
Saw Eddie. Plays fast, great player, but loud and fast gets old.

I saw Robby Krieger at a small local bar here in like '92 or so. He rocked hard, did all doors stuff. It was great.

Here are five seminal influences:
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Carlos Santana
David Gilmour
Tommy Emmanuel
Larry Carlton

Here's a trivia question for you. Can you name the 'surf band' that Larry Carlton played in as a teenager ? Very few people know this.

Eddie and the Showmen. Larry wasn't lead, though.
I think he was only 16-17 years old at the time.

All right, already.
Eddie & the Showmen
On their few 45s though, some were listed as Eddie and the Showmen.

I had no idea but the story of his early years is pretty cool. This guy started young!

From Larry Carlton's website:
For a time, he played in the South Bay surf band Eddie and the Showmen, still an obscure favorite among 1960s surf music enthusiasts.
