The posted speed limit. :D

127 MPH at Mid-Ohio

136 in a Volvo 850 with the light pressure turbo. The 850R models had the high pressure turbo installed.
I can remember standing on the pedal and me wanting more, buts thats all she had. It was on a stretch of road that parallels I10 in west Texas heading west. I was on my way to NM. I have my favorite places to stop while traveling and I had my eyes on that stretch for a long time. |

However I was driving west when you pulled me over so actually what ever you clocked me at should be subtracted from 1000 mph which means I was actually traveling backwards at about 900 mph. I think that qualifies for some kind of record for speed or best excuse ever in a Boxster. Lucky you didn't see me traveling east :D (Frame of reference (Earth) is important as it is not specified in the laws and I will argue that in court just for the fun of it and to get my monies worth) |
155 mph - 1997 993 C4S

No idea. It was fast. Beast attached. It is the current Boxster sibling.

147 mph GPS verified entering a tunnel around the Italian Alps next to a big truck. Still had plenty more to give but the tunnel wall and changing light condition dents your enthusiasm.

Speedo said 110 in the Boxster when entering the Tollway in Florida a few weeks ago. Feels really smooth to that point, but had to slow down, too many police around.
In my younger (read stupid) days, I was in my 1990 Convertible GT Mustang. It had LOTS of mods and straight line was crazy fast. In the desolate stretches of I-5 between L.A. and S.F. I hit 148 (according to the speedo). I had the top down and it was loud. Looking back, it didn't feel all that stable, but as I said, I was much younger (21 (read dumber)). A little later on that drive a cop pulled me over, said he clocked me at 128 about three miles back. Don't know how I managed to get off with 75 in a 55 zone, and traffic school completely erased it. |
I think my best was 129 mph in my modest 2.5L Boxster with my mother as my passenger...
|
180 mph. I was sitting in the left seat but unfortunately steering and pedals were on the right. I was in the first GT40 that John Wyer took to Le Mans and at Road America.

168 on GPS riding a CBR1000R... Only 128 in the Boxster :(
|
GPS recorded 150. I didn't look at the speedometer, was to busy looking at the road. Location undisclosed...

150 indicated, backed off once we hit the ton-and-a-half we were shooting for.
Utah Desert near Moab, with a spotter 2 miles ahead. Car had a lot more but the road surface didn't. Then did a 120-60 mph braking test that was way more exciting ;) Meant to do a 0-150-0 timed test at the airport in the 991 C2S before selling, but never found the time and now it doesn't really belong to me anymore (buyer picking up in 2 weeks). |
Haven't driven my boxster yet, boo hoo :(

Only about 110 mph on I-290 in Chi town in the Boxster. 230 kph in a BMW 118d on the A5 in Germany. An indicated 165 mph on the M3 back in the UK when I was (much) younger on a Kawasaki Ninja. Those were the days before marriage and speed cameras!

180 in a T-Rex, 120 in a S600 V12, 100 in the Boxster
