Saying goodbye

New owner drove in last night from South Carolina. Coming over this morning at 10 to pick up the beast. I have owned two of these now and loved both...even off for short periods. I hope this car gives him trouble free and fun driving.

My new ride...

Beautiful car, but

Like the 914, it just doesn't have the classic Porsche smooth, no sharp edge, design.
Willing to tolerate either, however.

Getting harder to find any that look that good. Consider that luck and hope it continues in you favor

Nice 944 turbo. Why did you sell the box if you don't mind me asking? Seems like some move up to boxsters from 944s.

I had that itch and needdd to scratch it. I grew up in the 80s and always loved these cars. IMO it is so much more car and has the ability to be upgraded in the motor much much more than the boxster. Plus,I have had two boxsters and wanted to try something new! They only made 1300 of these in 89 for the us market which is cool.

I can totally understand having owned both. While looking for a Boxster I had a eye out for 88 944 Turbo S and 89 Turbos. If I found the right one before finding my Boxster I would have gone that route. There are few Porsche sports cars I don't like.

Good luck with the new ride. I actually looked into getting one of those as my 2nd porshe. But that particular one sat way too long. Would of been nice to have both.

I need to get belt service and going to do all seals, water pump, thermostat etc while in there. Anything else you recommend? Last belt service was 10k ago but that was also 5 years ago so figure better safe than sorry.

the 944 turbo S is a special Porsche, as you said not many built, unlike the Boxster!
