Saying goodbye
New owner drove in last night from South Carolina. Coming over this morning at 10 to pick up the beast. I have owned two of these now and loved both...even off for short periods. I hope this car gives him trouble free and fun driving.
My new ride...http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1390053716.jpg |
Tell us about the new ride.
|
Don't leave! :( You're my buddy!
I have a '90 944S2 cabriolet - we'll talk about them! Rick |
Beautiful car, but
Like the 914, it just doesn't have the classic Porsche smooth, no sharp edge, design.
Willing to tolerate either, however. |

Awesome new ride! I love my '88 Turbo.
|
Getting harder to find any that look that good. Consider that luck and hope it continues in you favor
|
Nice, I'll trade you my '97 986 for it…straight up ...
|
Sweet ride and the right color.
|
Glad to hear you moved the Boxster trimer. That is one beautiful 944 Turbo, I hope it treats you well......
|
Nice 944 turbo. Why did you sell the box if you don't mind me asking? Seems like some move up to boxsters from 944s.

I can totally understand having owned both. While looking for a Boxster I had a eye out for 88 944 Turbo S and 89 Turbos. If I found the right one before finding my Boxster I would have gone that route. There are few Porsche sports cars I don't like.

Good luck with the new ride. I actually looked into getting one of those as my 2nd porshe. But that particular one sat way too long. Would of been nice to have both.
|
This was one of my other reasons. I can actually see the motor!http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1390079963.jpg

the 944 turbo S is a special Porsche, as you said not many built, unlike the Boxster!
|
Congrats, I always wanted one
|
Damn hell man, you keep switching so often. :D
New ride looks great! |
I rode as a passenger in a 944 Turbo today at Roebling with an instructor and holy #$%&! That thing was FAST! *Much* more get up and go than my 2000S. We got held up almost every lap by people not pointing us by and when he finally could get around them and put the foot down... wow!

Welcome to the 944 turbo world. You're going to love it. Go to Rennlist 944 turbo board. A lot of knowledge there on these cars.
I have 88 turbo S which I've owned since 2002. Prior to this I had a 87 which I owned since 1993. I fell in love with these cars ever since I saw this commercial. Porsche 944 Turbo Commercial - YouTube These are my babies. Pics are taken earlier today after detailing them. Both are unique. 88 turbo S only about 716 came to the US 2008 Design Eition 2 one of 32 came to the US. Seems not much love for this model in the US but each time I take it to a pca event it draws a lot of attention and thumbs up. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1390112293.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1390112323.jpg[img] http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1390112463.jpg |
Congrats Trimer! I'll be posting some a similar thread once my '99 finds a good home. I'm moving on to the 993 world. I found one that I simply couldn't say no to.
Best of luck with the 944 world! |
The 944 was quite the car for its time and is still quite "competitive" with many sports cars that are 20-25 years newer.
