I found a turbo and put a deposit on it.

So I found a turbo and put a deposit on it. The car has had one owner and has 9k miles. I think I got a great deal. The color is not my favorite, but I thought this was a gem so snatched it up. The combo is meridian metalic and natural brown leather. I will be selling my boxster to my brother in laws brother for a steal as I need to get rid of it to stay within my spouse approved budget. The car appears to have been maintained well, with annual oil changes going back to 2008, don't have anything before that.

I was also looking at a 50k mile car for 5k less than the meridian car. The color on the 50k car was my favorite midnight blue/grey, but prefer 9k miles over 50k.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/27/amyha6y4.jpg

THAT is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Congrats......

Can't wait to hear your driving impressions.

Nice turbo!!!! Perfect way to buy it with low miles and majority of the depreciation paid for by the prior owners. I am picky about colors but 9k vs 50k is a no brainer. It's a new car! I driven a few and the power is intoxicating. Enjoy.

I'm trying to decide whether to have it transported to nj or drive from Dallas to nj. A covered transport is $1300. The trip will take a full day of driving.

1500miles is a full day of driving if you can average 100mph... 1000miles is a long day.

I just had my wife's Fiat Abart shipped from Dallas to Md for $575 they did it in 1 day. picked it up on a Tuesday and delivered the next day at 4:30PM on a car carrier but uncovered. Why do you care if it's covered as long as its secure and insured?

very nice, congrats & enjoy the turbos!!!! color combo is very elegant!!!

Shadrach,

What transport company did you use? Any damage on the car?

Yea I like the color, can't wait to see it in person.

Road Trip!

Road trip like that would be huge fun. Bring a radar detector to help with avoiding tickets and something to protect the front clip for stone chips.

I have done the "Fly in, drive home" thing a few times, it was worth it every single time. Every trip still holds great memories and I very much look forward to hopefully do it again. Savoring the car for the first time for several hours by yourself is heaven on earth. I truly envy you.........

Congrats on the find! I look forward to seeing more photos once it has arrived at its new home.

Wow, what a nice ride!
I've had my boxster for just about a year and have gotten the same 911 bug. The icing on the cake may have been the 50 years of the 911 book my wife bought me for Christmas....if she had only bought me the car instead!

Enjoy and congrats.

Beautiful car! Check what tires are on it before deciding how to get it home. If it's got sticky summer tires, you're going to have to buy new tires and/or wheels before you drive it back. And then figure out how to get the summer set home -- I'm not sure they'll fit in the back "seat".

In a next-to new turbo! I'm jealous... trying to figure out what the issue is!

Looks like a blast! Color is not bad at all- trust me, the meridian metallic would look clean the longest because it is silverish in color.

scottvd 12-26-2013 06:31 PM

Sweet ride, congrats- great Christmas gift to bring in the new year!

BruceH 12-26-2013 07:31 PM

9K vs 50K miles, no contest, congrats, great looking car! I am in the DFW area so if you need anything, let me know:cheers:
