Remote stopped working

[QUOTE=tonycarreon;253344]one turn is lock. two turns is lock + disable alarm. and yes, three quick turns (emergency operation) "will lock all functioning elements of the central locking system" and turn off the infrared passenger compartment monitoring.

Hello,

The remote control button on my one and only key was working when I picked up my W reg Boxster from the car dealer. Sadly the remote is not working any more. Locking by key only locks driver door and not the passenger door or fuel filler lid.

The only way I manage to lock both doors and the filler cap is using the three quick turns emergency operation thanks to the tip elsewhere on this Forum! Could anyone help me diagnose the problem with my remote central locking please, things I tried so far:

- New CR2032 remote battery
- New Bosch heavy duty car battery
- Remote key and dashboard LEDs light up, transmit and receive working ok?

Many thanks in advance.

I've had luck installing the battery in the remote backwards for a few minutes, and then installing it the correct way. I don't know why that works.

I've installed the battery backwards - my mistake. I've also installed the battery incorrectly by not noticing that little plastic tab - by mistake.

And of course - if you haven't used the car for over 5 days, non of the remote functions will work until you unlock the door with your key.
