what is this?

Preparing my motor for the drop. All plastic parts are brittle in a 12 year old car. Snapped this puppy in half and I don"t know what it is/does. it"s in the middle of a coolant hose in the rear right of the engine compartment.. I think it"s the oil cooler coolant hose.
Thanks!http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1386545636.jpg

It's a watchamecallit...also they maybe a Porsche part number on it. If you have a Tip you may be right that it is part the Tip oil cooling system. Now, does it connect to the Tip.

Go here and look, they have schematics so you can see. www.dcauto.com

well, there's the 7.89 that I can see. Not very helpful. I checked out the schematics but I'm not too sure that I can find the corresponding diagram, let alone the part. My car is a 2001, 3.2l tiptronic.
I typed in thingamajig And whatchamacallit into Pelican and ECS but came up with nada. :(

If it is on the coolant hose that runs from the oil cooler to the coolant tank, it's most likely:

996.106.255.00 Flat Connector

Part Number Description MSRP
996-106-255-00 SS 99610625501 $1.73

Thanks Paul, I think you are right. Zodman on the Renntech forum seems to concur with you. I'll double check the hose tomorrow to make sure where it comes from/goes to.:)

Okay, got it out and took a good look. It's a quick connector. There was a button on it which I was supposed to push (and not pull ) which broke. Then I broke the nipple on one end and the flange disintegrated. But it's just a $2 part.
Thanks for your help! :)
