Heiko 11-13-2013 12:08 PM

No snow here in Guelph... but i'm sure its coming... someday!

BoxsterSteve 11-13-2013 01:44 PM

Yeah, hibernation time in Ontario... it bites.
Hey M31, is your car Meridian or Arctic Silver?

Patiently waiting until April :(

brian325is 11-13-2013 01:46 PM

It looks exactly like mine, which would be arctic silver. Guess I am wrong!

What is that white stuff? It comes from the sky? Weird.

Anyway, it was 91F here yesterday with cooling to the high 80's today...

Thank you for letting me know how nice it is down there…I appreciate that!
We have our own heat wave moving in this weekend with +11C forecast!
All the white stuff will be gone and I can enjoy one final road trip before winter storage next week...:(

Nine8Six 11-14-2013 04:12 PM

I'm also stuck in dead-boring summer all year long place (lowest 10-15degree Dec~March here). I could trade this for the good old Canadian winter and SNOW anytime! Really missing snow, skiing, snowboarding, skating, trekking, motorcycle ice racing, ice fishing, etc etc etc to name a few ;)

Wouldn't complain if I were you! Enjoy the white stuff

san rensho 11-14-2013 04:49 PM

Still so hot here in Miami, that I have only had a couple of days of top down driving. Sorry to rub it in.

Jamesp 11-14-2013 04:58 PM

Grew up in Michigan, moved to Houston. Skiing is enough winter for me!

986_c6 11-15-2013 12:08 AM

That's heartbreaking to see a Boxster parked outside under a blanket of snow!
I have mine parked in a heated workshop (under a blanket) in Exeter.
PS - no snow here in Simcoe, ON yet.

You forgot:
Shovelling
Slush
Dirty snow
Yellow snow
Frozen locks
Frozen gas line
Frozen water pipes
Square tires
Salted roads
Nighttime at 4:30
And power outages ...
:D

By this time Monday mine will also be hibernating under a blanket inside a secure heated workshop so at least one of us will happy...:ah:

Blown windshield wiper fuses :o
Wheel wells made of ice
Dead batteries

Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there again!

The worst is the constant darkness. We're down to less than 9 hours of daylight each day, and still over a month to go to the shortest day. I leave for work in the dark, I get home in the dark. The only daylight I'll see for the next 4 months is through my office window.

Then what you need is the daily work schedule of the mayor of Toronto. In at 11 am, out by 3 pm.

Yes this never ending circus is entertaining but I think the time has come for Rob Ford to meet Betty Ford...:ah:

Mark_T 11-15-2013 02:18 PM

Look at the bright side - at least now we're laughing at Toronto because of Rob and not because they need to call in the army to save them whenever they get more than 4" of snow. :D

Bmod986 11-15-2013 03:37 PM

Oh come on your missing out on snow drifting. Though the salt will eat any and all of your rubbers and bushings. Still awesome experience.

DieSiebener 11-15-2013 04:18 PM

Thats all!? We had more snow than that in Iowa on Monday! But it is gone now :)

Agreed, the snow drifting is nice.

Especially when you have the snowplow drifts to keep your ass end on the road!

recycledsixtie 11-16-2013 10:25 AM

Well we are expecting 4-6 inches of snow. A/S tires got me to the car wash and back no problem two blocks away but I think that I will have to put the Blizzak snow tires on in the next couple of days......

And yeah watch out Winnipeg as you may get our snow. Winter is here too bad.

recycledsixtie 11-16-2013 10:51 AM

This is a sad thread indeed. Shameless plug: sunny and 75 here in California I'll continue driving top down all winter. Send cold weather! My seat heaters need more use.

And when we went down to Palm Springs last winter for a week we ended up renting an Altima. Ouch...
