JD actually got me my start in the "biz" as we call it. I still try to emulate his style as he is both an inspiration, and a mentor...

Ah yes. Back in the good old days when woman had hair in the right place and no tattoos!

Am I the only retired guy with an understanding wife?

RawleyD 11-13-2013 05:31 PM

Nice jobs!

Veterinarian. The dog I am "abusing" in the photo is mine. His name is Jake, and he's wearing a goofy shark costume designed for cats (the 'ear holes' are actually for the cat's front legs!) I only left it on him long enough to shoot a couple of pics---he was a good sport about the whole thing...

Nice, If only people could be as good of sports as dogs...

Way cool! :D

My wife and I are both "dog people". We are now on our third Rhodesian Ridgeback. Great breed.

I'll post pics of her (the roadie) in the Boxster soon. My wife is jealous because Rush has more seat time in the Boxster than she does. :o

Say hi to the Danger Dogs - Ruby and Pearl. They were in service with the Khazikastan Secret Police before I rescued them.

Those are two serious looking buddies JD. LOLLL so funny! You clearly disturbed them whatever they were doing there.

Frodo - own a pair of working dogs (Rotties; J.J. 56kg & Thor 52kg). Live in/out doors and has their own dedicated room inside the house. Huge (hugeeee) hobby for all 3 of us! Thanks for giving some of time to those little ones

Nice. Some of my colleagues aren't all that crazy about seeing Rotties walking in their doors, but I love 'em. It's pretty easy to tell which ones you have to be careful with (and there are a few!)---the rest of them are great.

Their attitude all depends on the owner. Mine are socialising a lot so they are pretty cool. They just can't do well with 'anyone' when I am not around for some strange reason (WIFE INCL). We get to visit Dr Zheng at the Pet Clinic every month as part of their outting schedule. She gives them a quick visual check for free each time! That is the only person I trust that would need to touch my pups in case anything goes completely wrong.

Love your work. Thanks again

"First, kill all the ........."! Yes, I am a member of the world's most hated profession and, in spite of Shakespeare's rather sound advice, still very much alive. I am also developing a very small boutique resort in the Caribbean for my pending retirement (actually, much like my 40 foot catamaran, a sinkhole for money that seems to be delaying my retirement). At times my real job seems to be continuing to support at home two twenty-something step-daughters (and one of their fiances) in the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed. Upon reflection, this may explain my oft-repeated view that old Porsches are actually pretty low maintenance!

Brad

PS Speaking of pending retirement, congrats TO on yours! I am well and truly envious!

In the commercial printing biz for over 25 years now. Hoping to make it to the finish line before we become a paperless society. It's gonna be close... really, really close. My family owned small town newspapers around Kansas in the day, so I've been in the printing/publishing biz all my life.

Hey Bruce, that looks a lot like one of my offices. I'm a management consultant, and routinely fly AA from ORD -> EWR, LGA and lately LHR & CDG... Do you ever fly those routes?

I used to, until management decided to pull back from Chicago, which I don't understand. I rarely come through Chicago anymore, but yes, I have done the EWR and LGA routes many a time, as far as the overseas flights go, no I am not senior enough to get that flying:( I am going to EWR and back tomorrow but that is out of DFW. Not too many Bruce's out there though, if you hear my name, pop your head in the cockpit and say hi:cheers:

All civ stuff.... that's a Falcon 10 (which is an absolute rocketship, by the way). The 20 has worlds more room, but nowhere near the performance of the 10.

Also got lots of time in the Lears..... the 31 is also an absolute rocketship, and a BEAUTIFUL flying airplane. The tip tanked stuff is cool, but when you load em up with fuel, you can really feel it (especially in the tips). I haven't had the chance to get into a 60 yet, but I'd like to sooner than later.

In both the 10 and the 31, you peg the VSI on every climb, while still climbing at better than 280 :)

As to the radios, I don't mind that part, but it's a real treat in the 31 to get a "modern-ish" autopilot (at least the 31's were build in the 90's LOL). We actually have to fly the airplane LOL

I only got to fly a Lear once, it was a 23 and will never forget it:D That was a rocket ship! I have always loved the looks of the Falcons. The MD80 is not exactly modern, we still "have to fly" it is well, which is just fine by me. I love pulleys and cables!

I wouldn't have any qualms about flying the Mad Dog!!! I think they're bada$$!!

The strange thing about the Falcons is that they have boosted controls, which is a lil odd for a jet that small.

Of course, if you've ever seen this video, I guess there's some validity to their design.....

BruceH 11-14-2013 03:32 PM

Great video, thanks! The Mad Dog is fun, I will admit it, a bit of a handful in a strong crosswind with such a long fuselage but really pretty predictable. Planes are like cars, there are many that I would love to fly/drive!

And then some..... now that we're into the colder weather... 5000-6000 FPM at 280 Kts at lighter weights is pretty typical in the 10.
