Relating to Boxsters....

What is a Drone????

Heard this a few times now.

Drone is the Intarnet short for "resonance". Go figure!

Or harmonics. When different parts of the engine/gearbox has the same frequency of vibration, it can create a nasty 'humming' sound. In the professional racing and motorsports, this is sorted by damping the pipes/muffler with different thickness and stiffness materials. In some extreme case (some F1), wrapping the headers can kill vibration by more than 25%.

Many ways to get 'drone' sorted.
