Leaking antifreeze, whats your best guess?
Hello I have 2007 boxster
A day or two ago I felt it bottom out leaving a gas station, felt like a minor scrape a best.
Yesterday the coolant alarm went off on the dashbaord, so I put in anti freeze.
Took a short ride to the gym and everything was fine
Then when I tool it out of the garage later I noticed a large pool of anti freeze under the front of the car, the guage in the antifreeze compartment confirmed it had leaked out.
Taking it to my mechanic tonight.
Just from this description, what could be the problem? Hopefully a Hose? or worse?

Could be a broken hose, cracked pipe, loose clamp or cracked radiator. Don't let the car overheat when taking it to your mechanic. If it were me and it was losing coolant at the rate you describe, I'd have it towed.

These cars have plastic mounting "ears" molded into the end tanks of the front radiators that are infamous for breaking when the nose of the car bottoms out. Usually, when they snap off, it creates a leak.
Before you even ask, no, it cannot be glued back in place; it simply will not hold.

How sensitive are these 986 motor to crack when overheat? i.e. if you begin to see the needle rise to 250degF and you pull over w/in 30sec, does the motor (cylinder, head, blown HG, etc..) crack?

In a word, "very". Alloy engines do not like heat..........
