Sorry for your situation. Curious to see if the ratio of failures as the M96 motor grows longer in the tooth continues to increase (if it even is doing so now). Good question for Jake.

I sincerely hope Porsche steps up and helps you out BlackCloud.

We are booked for 13 months solid for stage II and stage III builds at the present. Typically this time of year we have a 7 month backlog for these engines and our spring is not filled until Thanksgiving.

Of those only one of them is coming here electively, the rest have stemmed from failures.

This doesn't count the Stage I builds that generally stem from failures as well as the engines on the schedule on the repair side of the house.

More are failing from other things, because more and more have had the IMSB addressed. Intermix from cracked heads is and has been our biggest killers for the last 3 years.

Hi Jake, is this partly because owners are not proactive enough with water pump replacements?

Do you consider this to be a largely preventable mode of failure?

One more question, have you seen enough 05-08 IMS failures to believe that those bearings are only likely to stay in an optimal state for xx,xxx miles? Or do you think proper maintenance alone can ward off the need to split open the engine to service the ims?
