Thanks for this. Worked like a charm and always better than going to the dealership.

I found this octagonish black plastic piece that has a spring attached to it when I lifted the shift plate up. I only hope that it fit back into place as it should when I put the new shift plate back on.....

Everything seems to shift fine so I guess I didn't screw anything thing up....

What is the plastic piece with the spring in it anyway, and which way is it really suppose to face?
