Waste of gas and excess wear and tear on the motor. 30mph for me would be 3rd gear, but in the 35-45 range I'm in 4th all day long with the revs around 2k. No need for anymore if you're driving down a straight flat city road at a steady speed. Even the 2.5 is tractable in 4th from 1500-2500rpm. Last edited by black_falcon; 12-26-2013 at 05:27 PM.
