Mileage stuck - please help

I recently had some electrical problems and had to restart my 1999 2.5 Boxster using the fuse panel. Ever since, the digital mileage readout says 599999 and won't change. Porsche Uk cannot rectify unless I spend £1,900 on a new cluster. Has anyone else seen this or know what to do? Please?

Don't know how to fix it, but if it were my car I would try disconnecting the battery for awhile and see if the ECU will reset. Worth a try and doesn't cost anything.

A new cluster can be had over here approximately $100-150. An additional 100 bucks will get it reprogrammed to the correct mileage.
Know anyone else with the same model Boxster? If so you could swap cluster to see if this resolves the issue first. Of course the mileage is stored on the cluster EPROM (not the ecu) so it will reflect this.

I can't remember which forum but there is a fix for this that costs nothing. I brows Plant 9, Rennlist, and PCA Boxster register and I know I saw this resolved

You are a star Spinnaker and Jsceash. Thank you so much! It has been for a service at a porsche garage and for some work elsewhere and neither could fix it. I had. I idea it was so simple. Thanks again!
