Exclamation Check Engine Light Flashes

On my way to work today I decided to give my car a little go, dropped it down to 3rd gear and just went all out. Car hit 118mph and then I slowed down as my exit was coming up. As I came to a stop at the light and the engine began to rumble as if the car was not running on all cylinders. I waited a few seconds and the check engine light began to flash. About a minute later the car was fine, check engine light went away and no signs of problems.

**The car has done this a few times recently but never long enough to set off the check engine light.**

Anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?

All I know is that when the CE light FLASHES it means "turn off the car and have it towed to a mechanic." At least that's a paraphrase from my manual.

And personally, even if it seems fine now, I'd still have it looked at.

Just talked to my service advisor at Bevery Hills Porsche and he said when the light flashes it means there is a Current Fault. Basically the probably is occuring while the light if flashing.

I was told to drive and see if it happens again. He said something in the fuel could have caused it that the filter didnt catch....I'm gonna drive it this weekend and see if it happens again, if so ill take it in Monday....

Still have no idea why it happened, the filter missing something sounds BS to me. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the response Jeph...

More than likely a spark plug issue.
