I'm not familiar with the PC9-408 so I can't speak directly to making that particular adapter work. However, my understanding is that it's designed to accept the OEM harness for a Bose system without cutting. However, if it's not working, I'd recommend comparing the wiring diagrams from the Zenec unit and the OEM stereo leads. I don't have an image of the Porsche stereo wiring diagram handy, but there's a great write up on it here at Pelican with descriptions of the wires involved.

It might involve some cutting and splicing but it's not hard once you understand what's what. I wouldn't sweat cutting into the OEM harness. On a 2002 there's no warranty to worry about and resale value will be improved by installing a modern head unit.
