3.6l into a 2000s

Hello,

I've read several articals on this topic but there all pretty old. Most say the larget you can go on a 2000 is 3.4. I sound like the issue is the drive by-wire of 2002 and later and a 3.6 (also drive by wire)

Has anything changed? It seem like an older, re-flashed dme married to a 3.6 ought to fly

Thoughts please,

Regards, PK

Nope, not that simple.... I looked into this myself for my 2000s model. The 3.6 L motors have Variocam II, which requires a DME version 7.8 or higher. Our cars have a 5.2 DME. In order to swap the DMEs, you also have to swap the key transponder (you may be able to reprogram this), the HVAC controller, the ABS controller, and redo the back brake line routing for 4 channel ABS.

You will also need to redo the fuel pump and lines, along with the intake and motor mounts.
