About the passenger side blowing out. I've checked this several times with a piece of paper and on my 2003 S it pulls air in, as the paper sticks to the vent.

Mine is a 03 facelift 986 Right hand drive and my near side (passenger’s side) air vent is defiantly a different shape, it has a defeat quarter inch lip that sticks out from the body of the car.

Where as the off side (driver’s side) is flush fitting and doesn’t stick out, and it is not because of a bad fit they are a different shape/design.

if you take out the drivers side scoop and look at the back side, you'll see a small L shaped piece that is raised from the service. that piece need to go behind the lip in the scoop pocket. i didn't know that and broke mine off when i put it back in. now it's flush, but moves a little.
