Noted, yes its one of the tension cables, thanks guys.

Any particular reason they would break? Is it just material fatigue, or does it point to an incorrect top installation issue?

Edit: I just noticed mine either didn't have the circlip on the top connection, or it flew somewhere in the bowels of the car when I removed it. I may need to source that one too, or fabricate one.
