Went through the entire internet to find my code when that happened to me. After I got the code, I popped the frunk for some reason and lo and behold. Hand written on some sticker was the code.

I would advise everybody to do the same.

Need the stereo code

Hi,

I have a 2002 Boxster with a Becker CDR 220 stereo, Type 4462, Serial # 25012241. I had to change my battery recently, and I seem to have lost my stereo code. I would appreciate any help. Thanks!!!

I have found this to be the best resource:

don't think so.
I have had the battery off mine more times than i care to count... and for long periods.

Every time i put it back on - radio does not need a code and my pre-set stations are still there.

I read that the radio knows which chassis number it belongs to, so when you power it back up after a battery change, it calls the DME and confirms its in the right car. So long as the VIN matches its all good. If not....it locks it out

Becker 220 Radio Code, more...

I recently put a new battery in my 911 C4 and had to dig up a code since I am not the original owner; I found this thread and thought I'd pass along what I wound up doing:
I got the model and serial number by using the "hold down the TP button for 10 seconds and then use the right hand knob to display".
I found Porsche Resetting Radio Codes which has a Java-based code generator. It requests just the serial number in one box -- press the "Decode" button after entry. It
provided multiple choices of code, "first choice, second choice , etc" and the first choice 4-digit code worked for me.

Thanks to all who posted on this topic -- very helpful!
