No heat. Any suggestions?

After my company's Christmas party tonight, we were coming home in freezing rain. Once the engine was warmed up, I noticed the air was still pretty cold. The windows were not defogging, so I started messing with the controls. I cannot get the heat to come on at all and the defroster vents on the dash will not blow. 45 minutes later I pull into the garage with a windshield that's iced up and a wife who resembles a grape popsicle.

Has anybody dealt with this? Does the heater valve in the Boxster fail in the open or closed position?

I'm going to start simple with fuses and relays, but wondering if there's a magical fix out there that someone has run into.

TIA!
