GoPro on a Boxster

My buddy and I went for a ride today. He brought out his Ducati M696. We mounted the GoPro on the bar behind the passenger seat head rest in my 986S.

Looking for better mounting positions on the Boxster. Feel free to post your videos.

I have the Hero3 White. The standard gopro mounts are not flexible for any type of application. Here's the best adjustable mount I found for the windshield. With the double ball socket, you can position the camera at any angle. Tested this one over the weekend in prep for an off-road rally I'll be participating in next month. Works great.

Ram Mount - RAM Twist Lock Suction Cup Mount, Short Double Socket Arm & 1" Diameter Ball with Custom GoProŽ Hero Adapter

For the roll bar hoops, Ram Mounts sells this product. The double socket arm is 3.69" so you could probably mount just behind your head above the windscreen and position the camera towards the middle. I haven't tested this one yet.

Sorry to be negative, but I'm missing the point of posting the YouTube video. Not too interesting, no fast curvy roads or anything .

Very cool! That was fun to watch and you did a great job editing the footage.

How does the go pro roll bar mount work on the Boxster...?

Is the adjustment wide enough? Secure?

cool vid, next i want to see you two hauling out in the open!

I have a timelapse from Portland to Coeur d'Alene that I need to finish still blah....

As for mounts I highly advise against every buying a mount. I build all of my go pro mounts, as they are much more reliable. My diy suction cup mount has 2 suction cups, this allows for much less wobble or vibration in the videos, and is also much less likely to come off.

We used the roll bar mount on the curved bar behind the head rest. It fits pretty snug on the side facing outwards. The bar is thinner on that side. Be careful though, the roll bar mount easily scratches the metal on the bar.

Nice idea! How easy is it to snap the trim on and off?

So the Go Pro roll bar mount will not work? Really need to know as I can't get to my car yet and got it as a gift ....I will return if it will not clamp the Boxster bar sections

Not very hard, but the whole idea is to simply leave it on (as it's almost un-noticeable), but keep the original part if/when you want to revert to stock

The GoPro rollbar mount is made for round rollbars, not for the odd-shaped Boxster rollhoops

Yep your idea is good! I need red though...

Yes the bar section is almost triangular....I am hoping it will still grab adequately??
