The canvas that is glued to the rear bow is tucked out of sight and is attached by a seam right on the weatherseal border. OP's photo doesn't show said seam as it's behind the fabric he's holding up.
I need to tackle this on my Boxster as well. Could have sworn there was a piece on this in a how-to for replacing the roof canvas around here somewhere...
