Broken Key

I have an 05 Boxster S and the key back (the side with the crest) has a large crack. I've tried to glue it with epoxy with no success and tried to buy a replacement (without the electronics) from Suncoast and EBay- again no joy.

Can anyone recommend a glue that will work or a place to buy the head?

TIA,

Art

Garage
Ebay has some pretty good replacement shells that are inexpensive. I'd suggest a search there.

If you know the part number, try Automobile Atlanta Porsche 911 Parts, Porsche 996 Parts, Porsche 944 Parts, 914 Parts, Porsche Boxster Performance. If you don't know it, try giving them a call. I've been able to get the part number for the side with buttons, but my part diagram doesn't show the lower side with the crest.

Try Shoe Goo, sticks to practically anything.

You can fix it with some epoxy if your clever. Open it up and you'll find a little sliver that holds it together. Otherwise, DO NOT LOOSE THE pill, keep the "sword'. Get a key from ebay and swap the parts.

Note: You can start the car by holding the broken fob or just the pill next to ignition switch and inserting the "sword" and twisting with pliers. once' running, it won't stop, key fob/pill or not.

Regards, pk
