Does that dannmar have to b bolted down permanently?

No, you install permanent anchors in the floor and it can be removed and stored until needed again.

I've seen a few group buys put together last year on it for $1800, Costco also occasionally runs sales on it on their online site.

I talked to a couple of guys who had them on other P-Car websites, from what they said set-up time took longer than they initially expected but once the car was up they loved them. They also crowed a little about storage space when not in use.

You can use Hilti Quickbolt anchors that will allow you to bolt it down and then remove the nuts (leaving the bolt in place in the concrete) and remove the whole unit. Alternate idea would be to use drop in anchors (HDI's) wherein you leave the threaded unit in the concrete and use the bolt from the top down, this would leave you with a flat surface on your floor.
