The downside? Non-height adjustable!

Would probably only need 1 pair. Jack the car up from the rear post and the front goes up along with it. Stick a pair of regular stands in the front.

+1 And wait a little bit. H-F will have a knock-off for less than $100 before you know it.

My car is lowered (PSS9's). No way that I'd ever be able to get the jack and the jackpoint jack pad under the car. I had to remove the flat jackpad entirely from my race jack and it still barely fits.

Con's: Too expensive; non-height adjustable; no lift weight specs; what material is it made of.

To THSTONE: if you place a 2x4 in back of your rear tires (or in front of your front tires) and drive up on it, this may give you enough room to use your jack.

Innovative idea. While I don't plan to buy, here are a few more technical details from the vendor's site.

"We use Almag 535, a light weight, high performance, high strength Magnesium Aluminum alloy and wall thicknesses of 1/2 inch or more to evenly distribute load throughout the jack stand base. The results are jack stands that meets ANSI standards at 4000 pounds and a stable base nearly twice as wide as conventional jack stands."

Well it has been raining everyday. It probably will until September. Time for shop work. After research, I picked up a set of 6 ton jacks for routine activities. I found a set with ratchets and pins at Northern Tool on sale for $40.00 per set.

Not one to leave well enough alone I modified them by installing rubber pads onto the bearing surfaces. I have 1/4 inch thick material cut to fit and affixed with the E6000 adhesive. E6000 is pretty good stuff weather resistant and I have not had a failure with it so far.

Since I am usually alone in my man cave I used bright colors to indicate post positions for easy reference to level the vehicle. I got the six tons so I can use them for other toys and tools in the stable




Of course we can not have rusty stands under the Boxster and it does stay damp down here. I used the Duplicolor Clear Wheel paint to seal every thing up.I have had very good service from this product on wheels, calipers and anything else I have used it on so long as the prep was done right.
So they are not "really" Porsche jack stands but I think the caliper decals do add a certain savoir fare to these imports
I sure hope it quits raining soon !

Those are cool, I'd buy dentless door repair first but that's me. Also, unibody is not a new concept, my 71 Fiat is built the same way. Also, if done carefully with some underside mouse pad on the jack, using standard gear is just fine.
