I have been researching and searching for 18" wheels for about a week now, and just today I came across a model I haven't heard of yet.
It is called the Andros Spec P and I saw it on Tirerack (It looks like a new model that is going to release in a few weeks).
I'm digging the style and the price but wanted to consult with my fellow Boxster owners about this one.
Do you guys have any info on this company and their product, and also what do you guys think about this wheel.

By the way, there is a "view on vehicle" option to check out how it looks on the car. I have a black 02 Box. Here are the links to the two options.

Nice, and the price is great. They have another inexpensive wheel for about $650 for 4 of them but they aren't as nice as these. Let us know if you get them.

Andros appears to be a "budget" sub-brand from WTW/Giovanna. They are manufactured in Thailand and seem to be sold primarily though TireRack. WTW is the owner of the Giovanna, Gianelle, GFG, and Koko Kuture brands of wheels.

Thanks for the info, it's definitely looking like a spanking new sub-brand starting up next year. The more options for us the better!

@JohnnyD Since you are the tire and wheel expert around here, what would be the ideal offset range for the 225/40/18 265/35/18 tires from least aggressive to most aggressive to recommended.
I am assuming Andros will release the offset information starting next year.

Also I've had my eyes on these wheels but can't find the brand or model name.
Anybody know what they are? I believe this photo is from a member of this site.
They are similar to UsaRim, but are not those.

It's doubtful that Andros will offer different offsets. So, assuming that you go with their standard fitment of 18x8 and 18x10, for starters it would be nice to try and dial them in to around +35 and +45 respectively.

Well my son just damaged two of my Cargraphic wheels and now I have to special order replacements from the Motherland, which could take up to 2 months.

So I just ordered a set of the Spec P's in black as temporaries until I get the damaged wheels repaired.

I will post pics and let you know how the Spec's look.

Any updates on the Andros wheels? I REALLY like the looks of these wheels and the price is awesome! I would love to see a set on a BOX. I wonder if they make them to fit our Boxsters or if they will need spacers?

The offsets from Tire Rack are really off, i.e. 200mm+ for fronts and rears, for a 986. Hopefully the wheel maker has the right specs (Front 55mm & Rear 47mm +/-). Below are photos of what the wheel would look on a Guards Red Boxster.

Just out of curiosity, I called Tire Rack gave them my car info (1998 Porsche Boxster) and they informed me that the Andros Spec P comes in an 18" wheel, 8" front and a 10" rear that will fit (without the need for spacers). I'm very tempted to give these wheels a try. I think they look pretty sweet.

My one concern is that these are heavy but I'm not a wheel specialist lol. Tire Rack quotes the weights as 22.9lbs front and 27.7lbs for rear. I need the advice of the wheel gurus on this site. Is this an acceptable weight or are these power robbing pigs

Here they are on my car, rears have 14mm spacer, fronts are stock. Tires are 225 and 265. If I were not going to use spacers I would think about putting 235 and 275 just to fill out the wheel well a little better.

As far as the weight goes, I don't really feel any power loss. If you are going to be racing in these wheels then yes they are too heavy. When it comes to daily driving they look great, especially for the price. I would gladly be willing to save $1,000 for a couple of pounds in wheel weight.

I'm seriously thinking about these wheels now! I will go with the silver because I think it will look better with my Arena Red.

Have you looked at Wheel Dynamics yet? I really like their 808 Series. They also have a used section.

Drbodzin used them on his '98 restoration. Pretty sharp IMO.

You should checkout the Victor Zehn wheels. They're reasonably priced and fairly lightweight, and they come in 18's and 19's.

Yes they are the 18" standard 8" front, 10" rear

I also like the 808's but I bought these as a spare set while my other wheels are being repaired. The 808's are $1,600 compared to $800. I opted to save the $$$

Here are the rims I would like to have (car in pic is same color as mine). I see many of them for sale on Ebay but there seems to be many variations and sizes. I see pics like the one below all the time so I know they will fit a 986. How do I know the ones that will work on my 1998 986 Box??? In the adds the offset is almost never posted. Any advice on how to find the ones to fit my car would be greatly appreciated.

I found a set of the 5 spoke Carrera wheels that I like. They came off of a 2004 Carrera and have almost new Sumitomo HTR IIIs on them.

The fronts have 225-40-zr18s
The rears have 285-30-18Ss

Will these tires and rims fit a 1998 Box?? I know I will most likely need spacers but what size???

I don't know much about Sumitomo tires but after reading a few posts on here it seems like people like them.

What would be a fair price???

Second that -- really like those -- I went with the Victor Tursmo, the 5 spoke, which I also think is quite nice and similarly priced. But sadly I've already curbed one of those sweet polished edges
