It still looks dull and washed out to me, especially compared to their old yellow.

It's actually called "Racing Yellow" and I definitely prefer Speed Yellow as well. I think Porsche wanted to mix up the palette a bit and bring something new, fresh, and obnoxiously loud to the repertoire.
