As far as I have seen, they all just look like a regular washer - even from the dealer.

I must admit I was fooled into thinking that it would compress but not to the naked eye. When I drained my oil to install a replacement ims guardian pigtail I used the old crush washer because I did not have a new one. It was suggested on this forum that I should use a new one. Ordered from Pelican parts at $.25 each there is no excuse. I replaced it and can now live with myself!
