Windows won´t go totally up with top open.

Hi,
My 98 2,5L Boxster that i recently bought came with one problem.
When the top is open the windows will not totally close, they stay like when you begin to open the top.
When top is closed they work just fine.
Any help is welcome!!

On my 01S, after I unlatch the convertible top, the windows will drop down and stay down until the convertible top is fully open. While the top is partially open, I cannot raise the windows using the window switch.

There is a position sensor in one of the B pillars that tells the car whether the top is fully open. See this post

Perhaps this sensor isn't working or the alignment has changed somehow.

My guess is the sensor does two things. It tells the motor to stop and it tells the light on the dash to go off. If both these things are happening, then I'm not sure where the problem might be.

in my 99, the switch is right where the hook goes into the latch above the rearview mirror, i solved it by adding a glob of silicon to the end of the "hook" which depresses the microswitch even further. lemme know if you need pics
