Headlight highbeams?

I noticed that when I push the headlight stalk for ward I don't get high beams on, however when I pull back to the flash position they do come on.

Any hints as to what could be going on?

Also wondering how/where the alignment is done as my lights don't shine far enough ahead of the car.

Suggestions, Ideas?

1. probably a bad connector. mine did that when i bought the car. replaced it.

2. there are small hex adjustments on the assembly. remove the carpet from the frunk, should see the small hole for your screwdriver.

I think the owners manual says something about adjusting the headlights
