Update 11/19:

Took the car to the dealer. They hooked up to PIWIS and indeed the car was in Transit Mode. They took it out of Transit thru the "Sports Car Handoff" menu. We went though all the menus to verify no faults and that settings were correct (ie: 12 vs 24 hr clock.. etc..).

Summary:
Brought car to dealer: 4 times
Days car was offline (While DME/M531 was sent to ECU Doctors): 8
Replacement Parts: M531, 3 key heads, 2 key blanks

Cost:
$675 ECU Doctors Reprogramming DME, 2 key heads, new M531
$400 Porsche Dealer (R&I DME, R&I M531, 2 keys cut)

Good to hear you got it sorted..
If it wasn't for the ECU cost, that would be normal pricing..

I paid $336 for one electronic fob and program to the car.. included a hour labor.. At least they did a PPI for me..
The scenery wasn't bad at the dealer, watching the early morning babes drop off their cars..

Enjoy your ride.. and now remotes..

Which dealer did you take your car to? I have a 2003 Boxster S and 1 of my remote never worked since the day I purchased the car(although key starts and opens door manually) and the other key which also opens the door and starts the car, but the remote only works for about 5 days before I need to replace the battery. The remote is eating up batteries like crazy.

I'm looking to just purchase one or two(depending on price) electronic key fobs and having it programmed to the car...
