Drove my silver 2000S to top of Mt. Diablo with my brother. Blue sky and 70's! But a slowpoke idiot in a Prius right in front if us and no room to pass! Why is it that most Prius (and Volvo) drivers are slowpoke idiots?

Drained Oil, dropped the pan for a peek-a-boo
Third change for me 1st sump cover drop
Man I was ready for timing chain guild plastic, metal what ever.
My surprise - nothing - ultra clean at 67k miles.
Tonight I'll cut the filter for that inspection and put the cover back on with a new magnetic plug

I do see the need for new Plug tubes in my future.

I didn't remove some of the under car shield that barely overlaps the sump. I will need to do that to install

That's clean markskyline!

And as of today, I removed my door panels and fixed a water leak on both sides that's been pissing me off for a while now.

Sooooo, what's the plan there?

particlewave 04-21-2014 04:06 PM

All of this just so that I could get out the 3 horizontal trim strips for painting.

I'm not right in the head, Bruce...

Actually, this only took me about an hour. It looks much worse, though.
I also still need to finish dyeing my 3 spoke steering wheel, maybe add a small white stripe to the top of said steering wheel, and paint gauge cluster rings glacier white to match.
And...I am back to amber halogens until I get time to install projectors back into my headlights (sold those seen in my avatar :( ).

I did finish painting my rear bumper cover, though! :D

BruceH 04-21-2014 04:28 PM

Yikes! I had thought about those trim strips at one time but I seem to remember reading about the difficulty of removing them. A picture is worth a thousand words:D I have no doubt it will look incredible when you are finished:cheers:

heliguy 04-21-2014 09:54 PM

Paid it off!!!!!

I love it when the clear coat turns out perfect on the first try :D

Three coats of clear should be plenty for trim, I think. I can't wait to see it in the daylight.
