Same as most of you. If I can't see the car, the top goes up.

Concerning bird bombs though, my '97 has the original top with no leaks. I'm under the impression that it would be easier to clean from the interior than it would be to clean the top. Maybe I'm just too scared to touch my top.

If I can't see it, it goes up. I always have ten seconds to spare for a little peace of mind.

Red clip +1.
Up at home or work or anytime it's parked out of site for >30 minutes, or in the hot sun to help protect from damaging the interior.

Driving down.

Parked in my garage.....down

Other than a quick at the convenience store, or to pay for my gas, the top goes up.

Largely because I live in Florida, and it is known to start raining at any given moment. In fact if it is summer, around 3:00 PM, and you are in Central Florida, it is raining.

When I bought my car I asked the inspection ppl which way was better to store the car...the answer was a definitive top up... I tend to keep mine stored up in the garage...I assume for one it is better for wrinkles not to form...for another dust. Dunno of it really matters.

I don't have a red clip...might get one... For now I generally keep top up due to birds etc unless it is a very quick stop and I am lazy...

Ahhh, but since mine is a daily driver, the top sees a lot of action.

If the garage were storage and not overnight, I would agree completely.

Since I grew up driving MGs and Triumphs which take 5 or so minutes to erect the top, I learned at an early age to just leave the top down wherever I park, unless there is a threat of imminent rain or its on the street and I'll be gone for several hours. I drive my boxster every day and everywhere.

I was hit by bird poop while parking my car top down a few years ago. It was not a small bird but a huge seagull . Cleaning the interior was no fun and my wife and kids lauged at me for days calling me the bird man
