Headlights again

Well, I decided to plunge into buying some clear headlights to replace my amber ones, and what I discovered!
Even though every seller assured me that 986 and 996 headlamps are interchangeable, they definitely are not the same!
One headlight I purchased is the same as my old headlight except with the clear lenses, and the other is identical with a big difference, a diamond grid looking thingie on the lower part below the main headlamp (which I guess is from the 996).
I guess buyer beware, now I need one more lens, either matching the right or the left, but thats a $$ stinger.
I wonder if the internal plastic be swapped out from my old light?

Garage
I don't think it has to do with 996 or 986.
There are two manufactures for these headlamps, Boshe and Hella.
I also got brand new headlights from two different suppliers, and both came with the stripe pattern (guess I was lucky and they are both Hella ). Can you check and confirm if the part number is different on the two, or is it the manufacture?
I'm sure some members that think about getting new headlamps, will appreciate your information.
That will also help you locate the part you need.
I pesenoly don't have any preference between the stripe or the diamond pattern.
I think they both look good.

Your upper pic is the same as mine, which is Bosch.

i have the bosch driver's side, has the same diamond pattern.
i believe the boxster should have the striped pattern, the 911 has the diamond pattern.

Your are correct, I took a look and the Bosch has the diamond pattern.
Here the pics for that one.

Kind of leaning toward the stock pattern, but right now would be happy if they just matched...

I like those black led head units except for overuse of LEDs, and I live in conservative Walnut Creek, and probably would be flogged by the local Porschaphiles at the Safeway parking lot.
