convertible top oil spots?
Just had my top replaced about a month ago. Now notice 4 or 5 evenly spaced shiny spots on fabric along one of the ribs. Looks like may be oily spots? I did notice them on the old top too, but never thought much of them. Any ideas?

Under the clamshell are rubber bumpers. They are round. Use some tape to cover them.

Or adjust the clamshell to close a little higher by backing out the stops on the body.

That is exactly what mine looks like. Thought it was just on the old top, but see it on the newly installed top now as well. Thank you for the help again!

I have these spots too - never thought to try an adjustment to remove them. If I read correctly I need to adjust the sliders at the front of the clamshell. Is this right and which way should I adjust them - fwd or rear?

Not the sliders, the rubber stops on the body behind the clamshell that the clamshell pins enter. Just back them out equally. Doesn't take much.

Some pictures would be really handy. Would like to adjust the sliders and / or tape the rubber bits up but not sure how its done.
