waiting for the box

hello. I put the down payment on a 06 tip red/beige box. Very excited as this is my first porsche, unfortunately I have to wait until January for delivery. I've been searching around for a ood forum and am looking forward to this forum as it appears to be fairly active.

Cheers.

what I got on it

Thank you. Actually, I should say that my wife got it for me (yes, I am lucky) and I kept it fairly stock. I got the tiptronic (learned how to drive standard when 16 and since it's been over 16 years since, so... ), windstop, and standard black mats. I thought about a few upgrades, but boy do they get you on the cost! Since it's a tiptronic, I didn't go for many since it seemed many would be lost because of the automatic (e.g. suspension) and since the top will mostly be down, I decided that upgrading the sound system wouldn't make much of a difference. At least, that's what I tell myself (j/k).

cfos, try not to think about the car between now and then. It will just make the waiting worse. Throw yourself into your family, work, or hobbies and put it out of your mind. I'd be going nuts by mid October if I were you! Congrats and do take lots of pictures and post them here.

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to try the throw-yourself-into-work stuff for a bit and see if it helps, although I think I can almost recite the Boxter manual!

Well now that you have a serious sportscar on the way you should read this book.
(The performance drving bible)
and it might take you until January to "read" it all..

Thank you for the book ref. I'm sure I could use proper instruction. Somehow, hitting 105 in a Berreta back when I was 16 y.o. seems... reckless.

I also consider myself lucky that a local car dealer has been constucting a 4.5 mile track for people to "properly" drive their cars.

Oooooohh, that is going to be a long wait man. You'll keep thinking about it...and thinking about it...and you'll visit the Porsche dealer just to be near the cars...and then you will think about it some more...and then you will pretend to shift in your sleep and then you will think about it some more until you go completely mad. You'll start mixing Mobil 1 in your morning protein shake and before you know it you went crazy. Sorry dude, I don't think there is much hope. You can send it to me though and I will take good care of it.
