Failed bushings on the airbag frame
My horn is sounding with just a slight touch on the steering wheel and even when I don't touch it and the car is parked. A past thread said to search for "failed bushings on the airbag frame" in order to resolve this issue but I can't find any results.
Does anyone know how to fix a hyper sensitive horn? thanks, Colby |
there are 4 bushings, one in each corner.
the horn works by shorting out the inner section with the frame which is isolated by 4 rubber bushings. they wear out. I rigged some springs to get the bushing effect. PITA, took several tries, but it worked. I'm not sure if you can source replacements or have it refurbished. Mike |
Best option is to replace the air bag frame. Cost $86.75
