987S Options

Anybody got pics of the stainless steel exhaust tips? Are they worth adding?
How about the padded sport steering wheel, is it worth the cash?

I've heard somewhere that the tips are in short supply and may not currently be available for order. I'm thinking of removing the stock tips and having the stainless polished. The finish quality on the standard tips is not great.

As far as the wheel goes, I would recommend the thicker sport wheel. I've got the standard one and it doesn't feel like it belongs on a $60K sports car. I didn't really notice this when I took a test drive, but now that I've had it for 1000+ miles, it's one of the things I would change on an otherwise outstanding car.

Sport Wheel

+1 on what Longislander said; we just ordered our 06. We had to search to find a car with it to try and I thought it did work better than the std wheel.

$250 isn't a lot of money to pay for it but I've seen wheels like this standard on cars costing a lot less than the 987.

The $250 wheel is cheap and I don't think twice about it but what about the thicker sport wheel (in leather) $1000 bucks? This one I assume is same size as the sport but has a thicker rim...anyone have this option?

Get the sport wheel. I'm pissed I didn't! I personally wouldnt' bother with it in leather though--just another wear item really and the stock wheel's grip feels fine to me.

Actually, does anyone have any idea how much it would cost me to retrofit a sport wheel on the 987? The part's probably like $500 or some such crap, but that would almost be palatable if the install wouldn't be too pricey...
