Simple, but maybe stupid side marker question

I am picking up my 2003 Boxster S and I love the fact that the side markers are clear vs. the amber that I see on so many others. However, I don't know why they are clear. Other 2003's that I see have the amber, and I know for a fact that my father in law (who I am getting the car from) did not change them out himself.

So what's the deal?

Thanks

Yeah he is the original owner. That is why I am curious. The car is seal gray, don't know it that would make a difference, an I can't find anything online......

Is your father in law just messing with your mind?

Nope. And I meant to type Step-Father, my in-laws are visiting so I guess I have that in my head

But I know he isn't pulling my chain. And here is a pic:

Great looking car! That is what I want my car to look like. I hate the yellow headlights on my car.

I guess it really isn't that big a deal, just curious.

Love that link though. Good info!

Got my answer

I just found out that the car was ordered from Porsche that way. It was originally delivered to Boardwalk Porsche in Texas, and they order their cars that way.....

Guess I just got lucky!
