Boxster Top peeling?

The weather has been very bipolar from 90 degress to 60 degress and i thin thats played a role in the peeling of my top. The bottom of the rear windshield is starting to peel and water is getting in. Anyone have this kind of problem and a fix? Seems like oem might of just used windshield glue to attach the top to the rear windshield?

Post some pix. I'm having a difficult time imagining what's happening to your car's top.

The window is distached from the top. The glass is okay, I wonder if insurance would cover it as glass coverage.

Is this an aftermarket retrofit top? That happened on early renditions of the tops.

You could try to claim it, but it's probably going to be considered a maintenance item. Contact the top manufacturer and see if they will warrant it.

Exactly right!

If you do a search here for posts about 3 or 4 years ago, you will find that this is the problem that was described for the early versions of the GAHH and Robbins glass-windowed canvas tops for the three-bow (1997 to 2002) tops.

Regards, Maurice.

Both companies redesigned their tops to fix this problem. You should find out which brand it is and contact them to see if they will replace it. Both co's had 5 year warranties if I'm not mistaken.

My 1994 Mustang GT that I bought new started doing this when it was 2 years old. Ford dealer sent it to a upholstery shop for reglueing 2 different times. That "fix" lasted about a week. Top never got any worse or better the 9 years I had it. I think driving thru a automatic "touchless" car wash was the cause.
