Dying batt. Noted trunk release lights on!

The batt is almost dead. Can't crank engine but will turn on lights, etc. I don't mind changing it as it's on year 6. HOWEVER, I went to lock it up until tomorrow when I can get a batt for it and noted the lighting under the electric trunk/hood release by the drivers door won't go off. I went back out in a half hour and its' still on. Also, the remote door locks won't work although the power locks work with the key!!!

Could be that this is all screwy stuff because the batt is nearly dead....maybe at 5 cells rather than 6 which can screw up electronics.

I may have my answer tomorrow morn when I install a new batt, but who knows......thought I'd ask now.

Installed a new batt today. Car starts fine but the hood/trunk indicator lights on the switched by the driver's door ill not go out unless the car is locked. The car IS usually locked even in my garage but must have been forgotten during the past 2 weeks of rain and the lights wore my batt down.

I'm starting a new thread as the problem is redefined.
