Boxster Noobie, seat mystery

I took the plunge today and will soon have my own 2001 Boxster S.

I was doing a 2hr PPI and discovered a problem with the driver seat.

It would not respond to the side seat controls at all.

The passenger side seemed to tilt fine but did not notice the other lever having any kind of effect.

After searching the forum I noticed some talk about seat memories etc.

How can I test the seats properly to see if they are fully functional.

Could they be locked in the computer to prevent changes or something?

Ray

No. That's the short answer.

How I tested mine is by of course first testing if it will slide forward and back with the lever in the front of the seat, then tilting it all the way back until it will no longer go, and pulling on the side lever. That lever should make the seat *pop* up slightly. I say slightly but it is very noticeable.

That lever is to change the height of the seat and can be set all the way back down by holding the lever and using your feet to press yourself down towards the ground at about a 45 degree angle between the motor and the street below you, it does take some getting used to.

Good luck!!

Good point, should always check that first.

I'll have to wait 2 weeks to check when I take possession of my Boxster
