Garage
A new remote key is about $300-$350 and will then need to be taken to a dealer and coded to your car. Which i've been told is about an extra $150. Maybe some one that has gotten one more recently can give you a more-exact pricing.

But it is by no means cheap.

I had to get one last year for my 99, so only rear trunk release not the front. Here in the states it ran $175 for the key and $100 for the programming.

The cheapest route is to buy new key heads only. One takes the existing keys and fits them into the new heads. Then its on to programming them. Suncoast Porsche sells complete key heads for about $130 bucks each. I bought two locally (paid more) and paid about $125 to have them programmed. Total cost was roughly $500 for me for two new remote keys, but if you buy from Suncoast and can find someone to program them, you'll pay about $400 total.

cost of key

A) metal shaft. $100 factory cut from Porsche.Or... $30 for ebay blank + $40 for local smith to copy existing key.
B)new 3 button remote head - Suncoast or ebay, about $130-140.
C) programming car to recognize remote code (supplied w/ new remote head) and transponder for immobilizer (the elevtronic pill in the head); thrown in for free with other service at my indie, took him about 5 minutes with PST2. Good rapport with mechanic... priceless
